-------Felder Presentation to Mr. Casper and to Mr. Brocious.--------
The intent here was to inform Mr. Brocious ,and to give to Mr. Casper, who is the CFO of Oncenter,   enough information to help him help us find funding, specifically state funding.    He suggested as contact Andy Sciarabba who, with state monies, pretty much singlehandedly built a skating rink in an Ithaca Community Center.    The article I read is dated 2006, which was before the economic crisis.     We have several times visited Joan Christensen, who is now retired, and Mr. Magnarelli.     A proposal we wrote by request of Mr. Magnarelli lies fallow, now, for 3 years.     We remind him every now and then, but with little optimism and this is “only” for a pole vault system intended for use by Henninger School, Syracuse Parks, and Felder Track and Field Club, a partnership.     Ms. Christensen’s staff helped me for hours over a few days in different years with grant-writing contacts.    Those contacts I made from whom I didn’t gain a flat No, said that I was not contacting the right person.      They didn’t know who the right person was, but she or he was not the person.    This is at the state level.     I do receive some literature from John De Francisco, but he seems to be in the same fix;    there simply is no money.

Mr. Casper mentioned a current situation with him which gives to us more information.     He and his young son and a Mr. Clark are involved in youth basketball, ages 7 and up, and their organization looks for courts.    It seems that there are just about enough courts, but these are not available because schools, churches, other businesses which own these places do not wish to turn on the lights and heat/AC and/or to hire the custodial staff.    Mr. Casper will follow up with Mr. Clark and keep us informed as times (presumably) change.     Comment:    we will be paying for the social travesty of denying kids directed physical activity for a long, long while.

I don’t know if there is an answer, here, but we are better informed, thanks to Mr. Casper.    Felder continues to look for the ad in “Forbes Magazine” where an angel may be somewhere among the 900,000 subscribers.     And, second, we continue to raise money for the cost/revenue study which both County Executive Mahoney and Mayor Miner urged.
